About Live Lingua...
How did a Peace Corps volunteer, a teacher, and a black lab successfully break down cultural barriers?
When Ray Blakney, a U.S. Peace Corp volunteer stationed in Mexico, met, and married his wife Laura, a local Spanish teacher, they recognized how learning a new language changed their lives.
They wanted to help others build meaningful connections as well, by breaking down those cultural barriers.
Ray, Laura, and their black lab Frida opened a chain of successful brick and mortar language schools in Mexico. In 2010, they decided to bring the language immersion experience into everybody’s home!
So, they sold their schools and made their courses available online.
That’s when Live Lingua was born!
